I stayed 3 nights in the Red Rose Suite and it was the most relaxing 3 nights I spent on Gozo. Dar Ta Zeppi Guesthouse is beautiful, peaceful and so relaxing. I had corresponded with Tanja but unfortunately didn’t get to meet her on this visit as family matters called, but Tanja’s husband Vincent made me feel so welcome and he was so helpful, booking me a restaurant table and taking me to the ferry when I left.My room was beautiful, with antique furniture and unique decor and furnishings. The artwork was also so beautiful, inside the room and outside in the garden. I believe some of it is Tanja’s own work. Every day I noticed something new to look at!My Red Rose suite was very comfortable, very cool and such attention to detail everywhere. An abundance of toiletries too, which I enjoyed in the lovely deep bath one night instead of my usual shower. I slept so well in my bed, as it was so comfortable. It was so lovely to stay in a guesthouse where I felt as if I was staying in someone’s home.It was also great to have a fridge stocked with alcohol and soft drinks to purchase at very reasonable prices. Also to keep your own drinks in.The breakfast was fresh and varied; fresh fruit, smoothies, cheese, ham, pastries and yummy cakes. Also lovely pukka herbal teabags which I really enjoyed. The garden and plants are lovely, especially the bougainvillea, and after a hard day exploring in hot temperatures, the pool was a welcome end to the day. Very comfortable loungers and towelling covers provided also.I enjoyed my stay so much I will definitely be returning and hopefully next time I will be able to do some Yoga there if it is available. You can also have a local masseuse come to your room to carry out treatments. The guesthouse is a few minutes walk from some very good restaurants and bars (my favourite was Xerri il-Bukkett just up the hill from Dar Ta Zeppi, stunning views over to Comino.)Also the bus stop is just across the road.Qala village has a nice vibe and everyone is so friendly, I felt very safe being a solo traveller. Victoria is also very interesting and has great bars, restaurants and shopping. Don’t forget to visit the Citadel and walk the walls.I cannot wait to return to Dar Ta Zeppi and thank you Tanja and Vincent for my lovely 60th birthday card! I will definitely have to come back to return the pillowcase I accidentally packed!! 😣

Tanya and Vince have created a secluded, homey getaway and home base in Gozo.Well located. Nicely appointed. Thoughtful and friendly hospitality from the both of them, you will not go hungry or thirsty staying here that is for sure. Breakfast, ferry port pick up all included. Reliable wifi too. Cannot recommend enough. Their house is also full of history and charm, and they know everyone on the island so cannot go wrong with recommendations!

In June 2021 we’ve had a wonderful stay in B&B Dar Ta Zeppi. The owners Tanja and Vince are very lovely people who offer an excellent service. Each day the breakfast was tasty with a lot to choose from. The ‘green room’ was very spacious. If you want information about sightseeing or restaurants, they will surely let you discover some hidden gems. The nice and calm atmosphere in the B&B was perfect.

Focus on sustainability

Olive

Olive Tree is often a symbol of success, as sustainability seems embedded in the property’s identity and DNA.

  • The traditional building has been restored and refurbished with Maltese antique furniture.
  • Dar Ta’Zeppi is a great example of collaboration with its community: dealing with local farmers and providers to purchase fresh products, promoting the local culture, village life and cultural heritage.
  • Tanja and Vincent operate their charming B&B with good care to reduce their carbon footprint by replacing single-use plastics with reusable items and saving water by collecting and guiding the rainwater to the well

Explore the location

Charming B&B Dar Ta’Zeppi is in the centre of Qala on Gozo. It’s situated between two little squares that nonetheless teem with village life. Here you can find four excellent restaurants and a bar that plays live jazz classics. The closest beach is just a 15-minute walk away, with others a 10-minute cycle or 30-minute walk. The closest supermarket is a four-minute walk away and the capital, Victoria, is 15 minutes away by car. Gozo doesn’t have an airport so travellers should fly into Malta International Airport and then take a short 25-minute ferry from Cirkewwa. The entire island is just 67 km² so it’s very quick to travel around by car.
