As you enter the hotel grounds, you’re greeted with exposed sandstone walls and a set of arched wooden doorways decorated with religious and spiritual symbols.

Outdoors, a crystalline swimming pool invites you for a cooling dip and hammocks sway in the gentle breeze tempting you to simply relax and unwind. The interior of the hotel is equally as appealing. Lobby spaces are adorned with painted ceramics, hand-drawn sketches, lanterns, and plump cushions woven in rich reds and ochres and guest accommodations ooze deluxe, rustic charm. Tasty local Berber cuisine is served in the atmospheric restaurant or outside on the tiled terrace overlooking Tamezret village. On some evenings folk musicians perform for guests in traditional Tunisian dress. Leisurely days can be spent roaming labyrinth village streets, exploring museums, or hiking to beauty spots for the best views. Explore the location

Tucked away in southeast Tunisia, Dar Ayed Tamezret is within a few minutes’ walk of the Berber Museum and within a short walk of the pretty village of Tamezret. Labyrinth alleyways are ripe for exploration, adorned with ceramic pots blooming with colorful geraniums and walls draped in pink bougainvillea. The old watchtower offers incredible views and it’s possible to sample fine.
Outside the village, explore the unique troglodyte architecture and Star Wars filming locations of Matmata 11 kilometers away and hike the lunar landscapes to gain outstanding photo opportunities.
