Nikos, Angela and Paris provide an unforgettable stay at their beautiful and exclusive little boutique hotel. While Nikos helps with the very best tipps for a most agreeable stay, Angela is the Queen of the Kitchen. She prepares simply the best breakfast we ever ate so far. Paris himself is a God at the piano and plays it like a pro. Not to forget lovely Julia, the breakfast fairy. The rooms are stunning too. We've seen many places but there's not a 2nd one like Kókkini Porta Rossa. This is our home from home 💝

We had a pleasure of staying almost two weeks at the wonderful Kokkini Porta Rossa. The whole stay from start to finish was a wonderful experience. We were welcomed warmly and treated as friends/family.The hotel itself is the state of art place, extremely well planned and maintained, designed with such a feeling of warmth, elegance and taste it makes you smile every time you are inside. There are interesting pieces of history and art at every corner, for me it was not possible to get bored with the place. The hotel is located in the south part of the Old Town with extremely good access to all important and interesting places. The rooms are beautifully designed, quiet and spotlessly clean. There is a mini (not so mini) bar in each room with good quality spirits, wine, prosecco etc and a bucket of ice refilled every day. There are free drinks offered by the hotel the whole day. We had a little garden with a plunge pool adjacent to our room (Michalis) which was an absolute zen place at every time of the day and night. We highly recommend this room.Every morning an amazing breakfast was served which was prepared by talented Angela and served by lovely Julia (thanks Julia for joking with us every day, and for your warmest personality, big big hugs!) and the help of Nikos. The breakfast is extremely tasty, with different starters, juices, coffee, bread and such tasty home made preserves and honey, yoghurt with fruits, eggs of your choice, and a dessert. Many of the recipes can be found on the hotel’s website. Thank you Angela for feeding us so every day, we were really missing your breakfast today! For the daily activities we had suggestions prepared by Nikos who is a passionate history lover, who’s knowledge is to be admired. He gave us a lot of his time explaining and advising on different sites to visit and his thoughts and propositions were invaluable. Thank you for advising, organising trips and supporting us every single day! Whenever Nikos was busy, lady Angela was there to give her advise as well, thank you Angela for always being there for us, and for collecting us from the beach when there was no taxi available, you are the best! There is an application of the hotel in which there are suggestions of places to visit, things to do, how to get everywhere. There is a tablet given which is extremely helpful for car trips and gps use, even having and offline gps which is quite useful sometimes.Angela and Nikos have an amazing son Paris. He plays piano practically every day, he is so talented. He is a passionate musician with such a gift. Thank you Paris for giving me a push and motivation for practicing my piano skills again! I admire highly your skills, I know and understand how much time and determination, patience and drive it takes to be as good as you are.I could write and write a lot more about the hotel and the wonderful people who run it but I am afraid it would end with a book about it.I would like to thank you Angela, Nikos, Paris and Julia for making our stay with you perfect and for making my birthday memorable and special. We miss you very much and we hope for meeting again.Big hugs for all of you, you are all amazing!

We had a great time at Kokkini Porta Rossa. The room has really cool medieval decor. We were served a 3-course breakfast every morning in their beautiful terrace. The location is perfect, within the old town and really close to all the restaurants and shops. The hosts were so friendly and warm and they have a really nifty app which they used to give us lots of tips for sights and restaurants and getting around the island. We had a great time thanks to Nikos and Angela!

Explore the location

Just 120 meters from St. John’s Gate, Kokkini Porta Rossa marks your entry into the historic heart of Rhodes Town with its striking red door and white balcony. This gateway leads you into the Medieval Town, a place steeped in the rich tapestry of history shaped by the Knights of St. John after their arrival in 1309. Here, the walls, the moat, and the bridges tell tales of sieges and resilience, standing as proud relics of the Knights' 200-year reign.

Explore Rhodes like a local!

The character of Old Town is a palimpsest of histories, from the imposing battlements to the minarets that rose with the Ottoman conquest in 1522, transforming the skyline and introducing the evocative calls of the muezzin. These layers of history culminate in a vibrant UNESCO World Heritage Site, bustling with over 5000 residents and workers, its lifeblood flowing through narrow streets lined with grand wooden doors and the inviting aromas of the bazaar.

Today, Medieval Town offers a blend of past and present, inviting visitors to explore its rich heritage at numerous museums and historical sites while also enjoying the contemporary pleasures of music, cuisine, and lively market streets. Relax in quaint café courtyards, indulge in local mezé with ouzo, and immerse yourself in an atmosphere where every corner offers a story.
