Lose yourself in a laid-back reverie at Perivolas Boutique Hotel

Imagine rising from your bed, walking barefoot, across the smooth white stone floor to the mouth of the restored cave in which you slept, which opens onto a view of the Aegean so magnificent that it makes you stop for a moment and ask: Is this real?

It is real. Perivolas Boutique Hotel is carved into a series of ancient caves that make up the sea-facing side of this village teetering above the caldera. The hotel’s predominant colour is a serene, almost sparkling white, glowing from the walls. The caves’ walls and ceilings arch elegantly over a decor that’s a laid-back luxury to a tee. Think big squashy pillows in jewel tones, distressed wood and baskets of flowers. The hosts have curated the perfect atmosphere to provide a backdrop for moments of divine tranquillity.

Outside your room, you’ll find a glittering infinity pool, a wellness centre and a gym with a view of the Sea. The hotel’s restaurant serves up fresh Greek dishes, refined and innovated to delectable levels. Infinite moments or dream-like relaxation await. Yet it’s all real.

We had an incredible time at this hotel. The staff was welcoming and helpful in every possible way The food at the restaurant was incredibly delicious, and the way the tables are situated you have amazing views of the caldera and the sea. The breath taking views, the impeccable service, the scrumptious food, all make this a place that you never want to leave. They made us feel like we were celebrities. We could really get use to this type of "royal treatment". Best vacation ever!!!!

Beautiful little property tucked into the side of a mountain, which means lots and lots of steps to climb, whether it's to your room, the pool, or to breakfast. But it's totally worth it, however, for the views from the infinity pool, from your room's private balcony, or really anywhere on the property. The rooms are decently-sized. Not huge, and the entrances and doorways are really small, simply because they're built into a mountain. Water from the tap isn't drinkable, ask for extra bottles of water, which the hotel was happy to provide. The only complaint for us specifically was a room AC that couldn't really do the job, but because we were there during some of the hottest few days Greece has ever seen, I'll give it a pass.Overall, a lovely property. Highly recommended.

Best hotel ever! Views are incredible because you get to see all Oia. Food is wow! Everything is so beautiful and the staff is so nice and helpful. The only problem is you won’t want to leave :-). Can’t wait to be back someday.

Perivolas met all my expectations and exceeded them. Being our first hotel on our first trip to Greece, Perivolas did not disappoint. The view was everything I thought of and more. The hotel has a very special vibe - it is quiet, timeless, incredibly romantic and exudes a subtle luxury. It is the perfect distance from the heart of Oia, a very short walk away but enough to shield you from the crazy crowds and tourists. We stayed in the Infinity Pool suite, the suite was super spacious with very high ceilings, the terrace was very spacious as well (I did yoga on it one day), and the pool was a decent depth and size as well. The suite is also located in a very private spot. The shower which can be turned into a steam room was amazing as well.We also ate at the hotel's restaurant one night - great view, great service, and amazing food! The price is also very reasonable for Santorini restaurants at this level.Overall - I would definitely recommend Perivolas for your stay in Santorini!

A dream fairytale that stood ontop of a world class 5-star experience.10Liked · To sum up the perivolas experience in one word it would have be ‘fairytale’. This truly was a small piece of paradise in the beautiful setting of Oia. We traveled during the beginning of May, which we now know for sure means its a roll of the dice for weather. You may get lucky some days and have sun, you may get rain, you will for indubitably get clouds and wind, just how often and how long on each is up for debate. From the moment we arrived to Perivolas (may 1st, the very first day of their season), we were treated with the upmost respect and helpfulness. All of the staff who work on the property take great pride in working for perivolas, and they all tried their hardest to ensure we had a nice time. We got a free upgrade to the suite with private outdoor hot tub (jacuzzi) which was an incredibly nice touch with some the cold weather. Yes, the jacuzzi was warm enough and enjoyable to be inside of even in the cold weather. We experienced a different reality with another ‘5-star’ resort on another island, but rest assured the upgraded luxury at Perivolas was very well worth it.We did the couples massage treatment and enjoyed it fully, definitely worth the money. The food, breakfast and lunch were all stellar, although we did not eat dinner in the hotel. They truly try to provide a world class 5-star experience at every turn.Every night we walked into Oia and walked past the countless other suite and private pool hotels and villas along the path yet we did not see a single location that looked better than perivolas. In summary, any time we come back to Santorini this is where we will be staying. If my mother asked me where to stay on the island I would recommend perivolas, which is not something I would do with some of the other “5-star” resorts and hotels in Greece. This was truly an end-to-end 5 star experience and we are already looking forward to planning out next Perivolas fairytale.Disliked · The sauna was not very hot and seemed a bit dated, which stood out because literally everything other thing on the property was stellar. This was a very minor detail, the steam room was excellent so we spent most of our spa time in there instead.
