Petit Palais Platres Boutique Hotel: the heart of the emerald heaven of Cyprus

Located in the heart of Cyprus, overlooking the Troodos mountains, Petit Palais Platres Boutique Hotel is an exquisitely restored estate located far away from the bustle and noise of the city. The original hotel was built in the 1930s and was extremely popular among rich families, kings and famous poets of the time, who came to escape from the sweltering heat and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains. Later, the hotel was named Petit Palais, which means Little Palace – a summer residence of noble persons.

Now Petit Palais Platres boutique hotel has 34 modern rooms and suites, completely renovated in 2020 and fully equipped to make your stay more enjoyable. Once you’ve settled in and it’s time to relax in the sauna and steam bath, taste the best local vines and whiskey at Savalas Bar, rent a bicycle and visit the nearby waterfalls and Prodromos Reservoir. The modern interior of the rooms perfectly blends with the historical traditional character of the building, which creates a unique modern design in smooth light green and beige tones that help you relax after a busy day.

Delightful! The staff contributed immensely to the visit 🥰 from the moment we walked in Cleo warmly greeted us & gave us her attention to Anika kindly & graciously assisting us in the dining room, & to the rest of the staff -> kudos, I regret not recalling everyone’s name in order to recognize their expertise! The food in the dining room was delicious & generous. The rooms were pleasant & an evening candy was left 😋The sauna was a welcome restorative respite after a long drive. Easy WiFi.The hotel is placed well & outside houses were minimal to non-existent. The caveat was the neighboring room had the television blasting but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault just a person who evidently needed hearing assistance. Parking was easy. This is a place one could spend a month visiting to refresh. Try the croissants at Petite Patisserie 😋

Book an advance to secure a room with the good view. It is the only and the best option in the village with the breakfast. In our case the stuff was very friendly and ready to meet our demand and offer the best they could. The room was warm, even during the winter time due to the proper heating.

We visited the hotel for lunch thus this review only involves the restaurant food and not the stay or amenities. As our visit was in January we ordered a Beef Consommé soup. To our disappointment the soup was very blunt tasted more like boiled water instead of stock or broth. To top things up the soup was a very very small portion. Considering the soups were priced at 15.50 euros per person we were unfortunately disappointed by the Kitchen at our visit.Albeit service was good and very friendly the food choices at the time weren't. Would recommend reconsidering menu pricing and reevaluating some of the dishes.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with good energy! The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety! The sauna was very nice, with appointments to have private time!Rooms and showers are a bit small, but for me that's not very important. All in all, very cozy and enjoyable!

Petit hotel with Grand prices! The rooms... petit also. If your calling for a reservation make sure you don't get a connected room. You are going to listen EVERYTHING from the next room!!!Staff is very polite and the place is clean but the food is very expensive for a 3 Star hotel. Expect to pay around €60 each for a dinner with an average bottle of wine! Not cheap! Good WiFi

Love, love, love this amazing hotel in Platres. The ambience, location, furnishings and decoration of the common areas and rooms plus the delightful restaurant, bar and food was fabulous and great for a romantic or relaxing stay with friends to investigate the beautiful Troodos area or just chill in the pretty village.

We have only been here for a lunch. Amazing service, very tasty food with relatively big portions, very very high prices though. We also received water bowl for our dog. The outside terrace was nice and inner decorations too.

We stayed at the hotel during the weekend as a family of 3- myself, my husband and our 16 months toddler. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is exceptional. There is a free parking near the hotel. And an amazing restaurant just in front of it. I don’t understand why it is rated as 2 starts, because it is clearly 4 stars.

Although we did not book through booking and did walk in the door after 7pm they could NOT give us a better price which I find ridiculous. The hotel was less than half full and they could have given us a better room but they did give us the smaller room possible. Opening the balconies door let many type of bugs, flies and mosquitoes inside the room. This lead to a disgusting experience for us. Other than this the bathroom and shower was clean.Overpriced and overrated rooms. The breakfast had a good variety of pastry and omelette made from the chef.Although this is a historic place, that was purchased and run by an investor, and they did a good work, for normal budget people I would not recommend. Although there are not many alternative properties in the area, it did not fulfill my needs and expectations.

Luxury hotel in the middle of Platres, trully polity staff, clean bedrooms and bathrooms, small sized rooms and balconies (2 people barely fit) but really nice! The breakfast was also great, raw salmon was served, the most of the hotels do not serve raw/smoked salmon for breakfast anymore. Also at breakfast the view was astonishing with the morning colours (the restaurant faces East) and it is nice that they are not a lot of rooms, privacy provided along with calmness! Definately Recommended!
This resort is well maintained and beautifully located! The staff is the most amazing and friendly we met in a long time. Breakfast and dinner were fab! Our room was beautiful...However,(!) we couldn't breath in our room as the kitchen's vent was located right by our balcony and the smell of cooking as well as the noise from the vent, woke us up both at night and at 6.45am. We had to shut all windows so that it stopped the smell but the noise of the vent was still very loud. We could not enjoy sitting out. The hotel staff mentioned they were aware of this problem so we can't figure out why not solving it or mentioning it to begin with ... The hotel itself is really beautiful, very clean, great food and has the most friendly staff!

Stayed at the hotel last weekend of April 2023.The rooms have been renovated and the bathrooms as well, and there is a small veranda big enough to barely fit 2 chairs. The breakfast buffet was very rich and included any type of eggs you wanted and had some Cypriot traditional touches such as halloumi and traditional sweets. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The only thing I didn’t like was that on the second night, I couldn’t get the AC to work which was not great…
