Entering Villa Edo is the first step of a journey of a luxurious retreat

Located on the hills of Gammarath, the modern villa portrays original elements of neo-Moresque character, from arched doors to the central patio with Tunisian mosaics.

Anne and Mario, the owners, have an amazing sense of hospitality and make sure every detail at Villa Edo adds up to the sense of serenity. You can sit in the tastefully decorated lounge area, have a drink, and chat with them– you would be surprised by the languages they speak fluently. You may spot their white rabbit hiding in a corner of the lounge. Let them offer you a white kaak warka or other Tunisian delicateness, and you can ask to arrange for a massage or private cooking lesson.

Retreat to your classy white and grey-themed room and enjoy the sea view or your private garden. You may prefer to relax on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean or sunbathe by the pool surrounded by tangerine trees and purple bougainvillea.

Amazing little villa in the Gammarth neighborhood of Tunis. The rooms and property were simply perfect. The hosts also great you like family. I loved talking with Anne each morning at breakfast. And speaking of breakfast, I don’t know how you would beat the one served at Villa Edo - particularly the fresh fruit and warm croissants! With Villa Edo, you can easily walk to La Marza and the beaches or catch taxi (use Bolt) into the city. But the villa is like an oasis - so comforting to just relax and enjoy the property. So happy I opted to stay here vs the conference hotel (which is only a 5-min walk).

We had a great experience at Villa Edo. It's a beautiful home, with modern decor in a great location. Our room was well equipped and had a beautiful terrace where we had our breakfast each morning. The bed was comfortable and the ac worked well. The only thing to be aware of is that the bathroom only has a tub with a handheld shower head. The service was great and we would highly recommend this place. Short drive from the airport, Tunis Medina, Carthage a d Sidi Bou Said. The grounds are really beautiful and there is a pool that is available to the guests but we never had time to use it. We also parked our car in front of the house for free and with no problems each night.
Amazing villa and rooms, Stunning views, Great location, Incredible hosts! I had read through previous reviews that the Internet speed could be better so was a bit concerned about that. But I found the Internet to be strong throughout the villa and then the hosts explained that they have upgraded to great speed. So, when in Tunis, please do yourselves a favour and stay at Villa Edo 🙂

Mario & Anne together with Oude, Asma, Kone & staff have created an incredible maison d’hotes. Charmante, peaceful and welcoming. The photos and experience do not do this place justice. Anne & Mario are also the brains & heart behind the global brand Amarante parfums. Villa Edo is lovingly and tastefully designed. My room and the maison d’hote was out of an Elle decor magazine. Breakfasts were sumptuous. Conversations with local guests heart warming and opening. Normally at a bnb/hotel one makes small talk (I hate small talk), but here people shared their profound experiences. Come here if you’re a well travelled person, curious about the world and people. You will leave with many unexpected gifts including more beauty, joy, and peace.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the admirably decorated dining room or in the terrace. You will feel energetic for the whole day from the deliciousness of local seasonal fruits,

Focus on sustainability

Figs

Like the fig tree roots, the property is constantly addressing many sustainable tourism areas and excelling in most fields.

  • Villa Edo has a magnificent garden with only a local plant carefully selected by Mario. The restoration plan of the Villa took care of preserving the existing trees (ask about the orange tree next to the pool)
  • The guest house is entirely furnished with custom-made items made by local artisans from natural material.
  • Guests are offered organic linen and locally made products (amenities and toiletries), in their suites.
  • The table d’hôte proposes cuisine based on local and seasonal produce.

Explore the location

Villa Edo is located in the affluent Gammarth. The residential neighbourhood is ideal for a morning jog or an afternoon walk taking a sneak peek of the sea. The area brings also fancy lounges, restaurants, golf courses and nightclubs. You can walk to la Marsa beach for a tasty ice cream cone by the beach.
The picturesque Sidi Bou said is less than 10 minutes drive, as well as the Carthaginian ruins hidden in a flamboyant nature.
