Regal courtyards and sunbaked traditional houses, at Riad Zineb
Riad Zineb takes you back to the yesteryears of Marrakech; be it geometric carved doors, Fassi-embroidered curtains or pastries served in ceramic ware. Riad Zineb was once the home of Morrocan merchants. This explains the name of the old street- ‘Derb Chmaa’, translating to a candle in Arabic.
A swirl of ancient wooden doors leads you across different rooms. Daytime sunshine is best enjoyed at the outdoor swimming pool and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding Medina. Highlighting artisanal decoration unique to Morocco like zellige, painted and sculpted wood, and wrought ironwork, it’s almost like you’re in an ‘Arabian Nights’ story with colourful carpets, gold-framed mirrors, and magic lamps.
The Riad Zineb was amazing. The location was great, right in the heart of the walled city. Recommend that you use the hotel taxi service from the airport. We had room 2 on the ground floor and our room opened out to the patio/pool area. The room was large with a really good sized en suite with large shower. Drinking water was replenished daily. ( A mini fridge would be a really good addition) The breakfast was so good with a lot of choice. The breakfast is served on the roof top terrace and for the more mature guest, be aware, there are a lot of steps and they are quite steep! But the staff really made the stay for us. The whole of the Zineb team went out of their way (and beyond!) to make sure we had everything we needed. I don’t want to name names in case I miss someone out, the whole team are fantastic. The pool was very refreshing after an incredibly hot sightseeing day. Temperatures were up in the high 90s, 101degs one day.The Zineb is slightly away from the main Riad Karmela but the staff there were also really helpful. Dinner is served on the rooftop terrace at the Karmela and is definitely worth having. My daughter and I had a fantastic time and would definitely choose Riad Zineb if we are lucky enough to visit Marrakesh again. Huge thank you to all the staff Sarah and Lorna
Excellent riad, part of a group of three riads in the medina, very close to the souk. The location may seem daunting at first, but you quickly feel comfortable and safe. The food is very good, the staff is attentive and, above all, very friendly!!!We had our return flight canceled, and they accommodated us right away, offered us breakfast the next day, even early, and offered us a free transfer to the airport!!! Very clean and beautifully decorated, the pool is a real plus.
6☆ for Amine and Aziz and their perfect welcome. Always attentive. Our return flight was canceled, so we were able to count on them. A perfect team. Thank you so much ❤️
I’ve just returned from a 4-night stay at Riad Zineb and couldn’t wait to share what a wonderful experience it was!Tucked away in the heart of Marrakech’s bustling market streets, Riad Zineb is a serene and beautifully kept riad — the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. The atmosphere was calm, peaceful, and spotlessly clean. It truly felt like an oasis amidst the vibrant chaos of the city. The highlight of our stay was without a doubt the exceptional staff. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. We booked through EasyJet, and upon arrival, a team member met us, wheeled our suitcase, and guided us through the busy streets — something we’d have really struggled with otherwise! As noted in other reviews, check-in takes place at the sister property, Riad Karmela, just a short walk away.Throughout our stay, the staff were consistently helpful and responsive. They answered all our questions, offered great local tips, and even arranged tuk-tuks for us — including one late at night via WhatsApp! When we had a minor issue with the air conditioning, it was resolved promptly. On our departure day, they ensured we were well-fed before our early flight and personally walked us to our pickup point. We genuinely felt looked after the entire time.Riad Zineb is small and quiet, with only a few rooms, which made it feel even more personal and relaxing. It’s just a short walk to the main square — they’ll show you the way and provide a map, though we found Apple Maps worked just fine too. While we didn’t book any excursions through the hotel, there were plenty of options available if you wanted to. We had a light lunch at Riad Karmela which was delicious, and while dinner is also offered, we opted to dine out in the evenings. If we had to mention one downside, it would be the lack of a mini fridge in the room — especially important when temperatures soar above 40°C, as it did during our stay. It would’ve been great to keep drinks cold. That said, overall, we loved our stay. The riad was beautiful and peaceful, the location ideal, and the staff truly made it special. We would absolutely return without hesitation!
This wonderful Riad was perfect for our 5 day break in Marrakesh.it is so beautiful and peaceful. Authentic rooms and such amazing staff. Hakim,DouHa, and RiaZinb were amazing even did me a lovely cake for my birthday. It is very central and the pool is lovely to come back to after a day exploring. The rooftop terrace so relaxing to sit on.We ate 4 out of 5 nights at Riad Karmela and the food was fabulous. We will definitely come back to this Riad. A perfect choice.Thank you so much you were all amazing.
If you are going to visit Marrakech then you really should stay in the old town (Medina) for the true atmosphere and this lovely little hotel (Riad) is perfectly placed. It's part of a group of 4 hotels which you can share the facilities with and all are close but I'm glad we stayed in this one as it's so peaceful and the service from Hakim the manager was the best we have ever experienced. He went over and above to help us and make sure that our stay was enjoyable and easy. He gave good advice too which is needed. We loved our room on the roof (6) and there are some fantastic restaurants all within an easy walk. Breakfast at the hotel was perfect. Fresh bottled water every day in the room and very quiet once in the hotel. Mad outside, but that's Marrakech!! We will definitely use this hotel again.
Warm welcomeBeautiful spacious and comfortable roomsProfessional and attentive staffGreat location near the souksThis was the 2nd visit, why not another
We spent a week at Riad Zineb (2 adults and 3 children). The Riad is magnificent and we enjoyed a superb two-bedroom suite overlooking the patio. The staff is particularly professional and caring, in a friendly manner (a special thank you to Karim and Hakim). Parents and children loved it.We will probably come back.
Riad in the heart of the Souk. Not very big, but rather cozy and clean. (It is a detachment of Riad Karmela). We had a very good time. There is always someone. Every little problem or request is resolved. The girl who works inside (10/2024) is really fantastic. Kind, always smiling, always busy cleaning, ordering and preparing. The breakfast does not have an infinite choice, but absolutely acceptable and of quality
I stayed at this riad with my family and it was an incredible experience. The riad was very clean, quiet, peaceful, and beautiful! The staff were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend staying at this riad in the Medina!
My recent stay at Riad Zineb was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to a world of elegance and tranquility. The riad's stunning architecture, adorned with intricate details, provided a captivating blend of traditional Moroccan design and modern comforts. The hospitality extended by the staff at Riad Zineb was truly remarkable. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness made me feel like a welcomed guest in their home. They were always ready to assist with any request, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms at the riad were beautifully appointed, exuding a sense of luxury and authenticity. I particularly appreciated the meticulous attention to detail, from the comfortable bedding to the charming decor that reflected the local culture. One of the highlights of my stay was the culinary experience. The riad's restaurant served a delectable array of Moroccan dishes that tantalized my taste buds. Each meal was a feast for both the eyes and the palate, showcasing the chef's skill in creating traditional flavors with a contemporary twist. What truly set Riad Zineb apart was its serene courtyard and rooftop terrace. These spaces provided an oasis of calm amidst the bustling city, making it the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy a cup of mint tea, and take in the breathtaking views. If you're seeking an enchanting escape in the heart of Morocco, I wholeheartedly recommend Riad Zineb. The combination of impeccable service, exquisite design, and a genuine sense of hospitality make it a haven that promises an unforgettable experience
My family and I stayed there for 5 days in August. The location is in the center of the medina, very close to the heart of the city. The Riad is perfect, not overcrowded, quiet at night and with the basic services for a good experience. The staff was charming and helpful. A very satisfactory experience. Thank you.
A beautiful Riad in the heart of Marrakech Medina. The Riad is very authentic and charming. A peaceful place to relax. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home ❤️ Everyone is friendly and always smiling, and happy to help.My highest recommendation 👍Nice breakfast at the rooftop.
We stayed here in Jan. Riad style hotel, built around a central courtyard. All the staff really looked after us Londoners.Every need was accommodated for by the staff, especially Amin. The food was incredible. On arrival, staff explained the map of the Medina (old city), places of interest, what to avoid. Rooms are traditional Morroccan style decor, kept very clean.
Amazing Riad. Felt like home there. The room was large and cosy. The windows let in generous amounts of natural light in the morning. The courtyard was beautiful with a small pool and a really welcoming communal area. Staff are also very accommodating and friendly. Another Riad I'd definitely stay in next time I'm in Marrakech!

Figs
Like the fig tree roots, the property is constantly addressing many sustainable tourism areas and excelling in most fields.
Sustainability comes as part of Dar Zineb’s DNA.
Even though sustainability was not trendy by the time the building was refurbished, the original 17th-century architecture helped to temper the air inside thanks to the thick walls, small windows opening to the patio.
Here we carefully manage to offer the best local experience through activities involving the neighbouring community and only local products are offered to the guests
