Everything was great! Service, room, location, no noise. When we arrived we got a super warm welcome from the host and we got an upgrade. The hotel looks very nicely decorated and it was super clean. Same goes for the room. It was nice and spacious, very clean and there was no noise coming from other guests or outside. It’s located in a very nice area and everything is in a walking distance. Great restaurants and nice shops. We took the train one day to Bologna and the trainstation was very easy to walk to. Overall it was a great experience and I can highly recommend it to anyone who’s planning to go to Florence!

We stayed at Porta Nera Private Living for 2 nights in early February. I personally find hotel reviews very helpful when choosing where to stay, so I like to share my experience to help other travelers. We visit Florence once a year for tourism, and this was one of our best stays. I can confirm most of the positive comments about the property. The equipment quality, cleanliness, security, hospitality, and location are all excellent. One of the best parts of our stay was the complimentary upgrade. From other reviews, I understand that the management tries to upgrade guests when availability allows, and we were lucky to benefit from this as well. Thank you for that! The location is perfect. All major tourist attractions are within a 10-minute walk. We arrived in Florence by train, and the property is only about 10 minutes on foot from Santa Maria Novella Station, which is very convenient when traveling with luggage. We also rented a car for one day, and the hotel is very close to the street where most car rental offices are located. For us, a major advantage was the central heating system. In many historical buildings in Florence, heating is provided by air conditioning units, since they were not originally built with central heating. However, AC heating is usually inefficient in very cold weather and can be noisy at night. The central heating here was quiet, efficient, and very comfortable, especially in February.Another nice touch was the complimentary cake, tea, coffee, and water available in our room and the entrance area. There were also additional refreshments available. We especially liked the tea selection, it was a local brand, and it was the first time we saw cotton tea bags. We liked it so much that we bought some packages from a shop in the city center.Based on our previous experiences in Florence, I can confidently say that the price-to-performance ratio is excellent compared to many other hotels in the city.We will definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Florence and highly recommend it to anyone planning a stay there.

Charming hotel. Very nice and modern decoration. Very good attention from the reception staff. I would like to go back.
This is a truly wonderful hotel, from the cleanliness and service to every little detail, like the pleasant perfume in the rooms and even the bags for wet umbrellas. The staff is truly customer-focused and dedicated to creating a cozy, welcoming, and enjoyable experience. Everything was amazing. I highly recommend staying there.

My wife and myself had a wonderful experience. We stayed for 4 days from the 11 th of March till the 15 th . Though we did expect from the reviews to have a pleasant experience, our actual stay exceeded all expectations. We will start from the excellent central location where everything is a walk away. The restauration of the building is top quality. A lot of attention to every little detail. Beautiful understated and very tasteful blend of materials. Also the choice and quality of furniture as well as the top notch construction materials left us amazed not to mention the clever use of space. The kind, warm welcoming and super willing to assist you personnel was beyond expectations together with the cleanliness of the rooms and of the whole premises. We have been doing our share of traveling and hopefully we will continue.. We do our research before any journey and thankfully we have not encountered major disappointments but we dont often get such a delightful surprise. A definite 10 out of 5 !. Strongly recommend it . We have found our spot for Lovely Florence. To be revisited!

We visited 4 cities in italy. We booked a room at porta nera honestly last minute and it was by far the best hotel we stayed at. The hostess is an amazing person, who knows her job and also helped us with recommendations. The rooms are clean and well heated. There are high quality beds where you can enjoy your sleep. Location is perfect as well.Hope that we will come back soon. Thanks for everything

Porta Nera is truly one of a kind.I usually stay only in branded hotel chains, but the ridiculous prices in Florence in the past 2 years have forced me to consider alternative accommodation and I have found Porta Nera, which I do not regret for a second. The location of course is unbeatable, close to all major sights. Though for me, the main highlight is the bed as I'm a difficult sleeper. I can confidently say the bed at Porta Nera is one of the most comfortable in the world, even more than some of the top 10 luxury hotels in the world I've stayed in.The staff there is there incredibly helpful as well. The only downside is they only stay until 8pm (which is expected from a serviced residence) but they will assist you with anything during the time they're there.I highly highly recommend this place!
I cannot recommend Portanera enough. The location is unbeatable, but the staff and the pristine rooms are what really made our experience. The rooms were clean, bright, very comfortable with amazing sheets and towels. They also held our luggage until 8 pm after we checked out so we could explore the city before catching our train! If you are in Florence, this is the place to stay!!
