Live the Art of Hospitality at Ottantotto Firenze

Ottantotto Firenze is more than just a boutique hotel—it is a journey through time, where history and contemporary elegance meet. Tucked away in the vibrant Oltrarno district, this former Renaissance bakery has lived many lives, from noble residence to philanthropic institution, before being thoughtfully restored into a place of quiet charm and refined character.

Every corner of Ottantotto whispers of a past era while embracing modern comfort. A delicate balance of antique materials and contemporary design creates an atmosphere that is both timeless and inviting. The warm glow of soft lighting, the texture of aged wood, and the carefully curated decor all contribute to an ambiance of understated luxury. Whether enjoying a peaceful moment in the intimate living room, curled up by the fireplace, or indulging in a leisurely breakfast overlooking the secluded garden, guests will find a space that feels uniquely their own.

Step outside, and Florence’s most authentic treasures await—artisans’ workshops, hidden piazzas, and the soul-stirring beauty of the city. Return, and the shaded garden, a retreat shared with a resident magpie, offers a tranquil escape. Ottantotto Firenze is not just a place to stay, but an experience to savor.

A lovely little boutique hotel - cute, uniquely designed rooms facing a lovely garden. Modern yet rustic Tuscan style. Good breakfast and café. Steps away from everything Florence has to offer. Very professional management who care about guests. 👍🏻👍🏻

A total gem of a boutique hotel in Florence!Ottantotto is not in the main part of Florence, but is in the heart of an amazing neighborhood called the Oltrarno. Staying at Ottantotto was like being welcomed into a friend's house. We were able to easily walk everywhere in Florence, and had so much fun exploring the less "touristy" spots that were recommended by the staff and easily accessible from the hotel.I do not think we will look to stay anywhere else when we visit Florence again.

Beautiful and small hotel in perfect location for visiting the city. The exhibition room was small but welcoming and furnished with impeccable style. The breakfast was also good, with products freshly prepared by a very kind and smiling lady. The breakfast table is to be shared with the other hotel guests, perhaps it could be a problem for some, but I find it very nice.If I had to suggest something to improve I would say the welcome of the staff upon arrival. On the second day the super cute girl at the reception suggested us some restaurants, thank you very much and great suggestions.Absolutely recommended, I hope to return soon.

Ottantotto was the highlight of our trip to Florence. We had the unique experience of staying in two different rooms - we stayed on the bookends of a wedding in Tuscany. Our first stay was in room 4, the “suite” overlooking the garden. It was gorgeous. Every detail pristine. The bath products, linens, decor. Just perfect! They accommodated setting up a cot for us in our spacious room so another family member could stay the night (60 euro). That was just as comfortable as the typical King bed. We enjoyed the “honesty” bar (ie refrigerator) and the breakfast. Cappuccinos for everyone. The garden was magical. The common spaces chic.We had a LOT of baggage, and the hotel kindly stored half of it while we attended the wedding. Hugely helpful as we had a small rental car for many people. I don’t know what we would’ve done otherwise. It was above and beyond, and they did not charge us for the favor. When we returned we stayed in room 1, the one with the bad reviews on Google. It certainly was not as charming and magical as room 4, but it was very clean and well appointed. The noise did not bother us, but we kept the window closed and shuttered for the whole 24 hour stay. We enjoyed how dark the room got for sleeping! It was

For a virtual stay, it was pretty convenient. I usually avoid booking hotels that do not have a 24 hour concierge but because there was a phone number to call 24 hours. I felt more comfortable booking and I’m happy that I did. the rooms were clean and very pretty, and the building itself had a lot of charm, very Instagram worthy. Breakfast in the morning was surprisingly really good and there were a lot of options. Price was fair. Secret garden was pretty. Such a vibe.

Incredible conversion of an old building, real attention to design detail. And stunning interior design of the rooms. The most beautiful tiny garden too which makes the space feel very special indeed, a welcome breathing space in busy Florence. We stayed in the Beaton Suite and it was the perfect layout for a family with a teenage daughter. Presented beautifully every day.The space downstairs is very small but breakfast was cleverly thought out and included all we needed. Excellent quality too. We loved eating in the garden with heat lamps when needed. But a few things could be improved for this hotel to fully meet the expectations of guests:1. It doesn’t work when guests have to eat inside - feels like eating in someone’s office! Would be much better if the team clearly led and explained breakfast and greeted guests as they arrived rather than person just sat working behind computer (we felt like we were interrupting). On the one day we were warmly and very confidently greeted at breakfast it made all the difference.2. Staff need to be on site all day, only there til 1pm at present. There was a major air conditioning problem during our stay and guests needs in general, eg arrival, departure, luggage, taxis etc would be so much better met with one of the team being on site. It is more stressful for the guest than they realise without staff on site. These small changes would make Ottantotto the perfect stay in Florence as it is an exceptionally beautiful place in a brilliant location. This is definitely my favourite area of Florence and we hope to return.
