Papaevangelou Hotel, to experience Greek hospitality in an idyllic mountain landscape
Papaevangelou Hotel is enviably placed underneath the mountains, just at the entrance of Papigo Village, with stunning views of the Astraka towers. Blending naturally into the landscape, the stone mansion combines rustic traditional charm with modern sleekness. Light-filled spaces, wooden floors, built-in fireplaces, and touches of colors here and there give this mansion a unique homey aura. In every space, you will see the mountain slopes as you gaze out the windows, sit at the cobbled terrace or walk in the garden, beautifully maintained with grapevines and flowering plants.
Have a drink on the terrace or the lounge by the fireplace in winter. Cocoon in your room while admiring the stunning view, and wake up the following morning to a delightful homemade breakfast.
Your stay at Papaevangelou Hotel will be unique thanks to the genuine hospitality of George, Markella, and their team. Greek hospitality in action.
Imagine a picturesque village overlooking a landscape that takes your breath away. That’s where you’ll find Giorgos’ place, and the setting is just the start.Giorgos was the most hospitable person we met in all of Greece. He welcomed us warmly and upgraded our room because availability allowed it. The apartment felt like home, nicely decorated with a view we never got tired of. All staff were extremely friendly, and breakfast was generous with local specialities.A place we will absolutely return to.
Whatever I say is a bit much. Cleanliness, hospitality, amazing breakfast, view!!! The soul of the accommodation, of course, is the smiling and special George, the owner. The whole group of eight friends left excited.
Mr. George is a smiling man with a big heart that fits every guest along with his wife!! Who makes wonderful sweets for breakfast and is kind and awesome! Wonderful breakfast every day and something different, all homemade with lots of love and the coffee is quality for every taste and the rooms are incredibly clean and spotless! This is the second time we have visited and of course we will go back at the first opportunity! I have no words, it is a unique experience that is worth it! These people love what they do and you will feel it when you visit!
Great location, close to the shops, cafes, tavernas of Megalo Papigo. There is a lot of space for parking in comparison with other nearby hotels, that is a very big plus. Visitors who can’t find a parking slot must leave their car in the parking area just outside the village. The complete hotel area is very nice, with flowers, and relaxing chairs. The room we stayed was very comfortable, with elegant furniture and big bathroom. The top of our stay was the hospitality of Mr George. He is very friendly, always with a smile on his face and ready to help you anytime. Highly recommend the hotel!Ευχαριστουμε κύριε Γιώργο για την φιλοξενία! Εις το επανιδείν!

The most relaxing. friendliest, and beautiful inn we've had the the pleasure of visiting. Leave the chaos of the high tourist sites behind and let Georgy and his team make you part of the family for a couple of days.
It was one of my best experiences from a hotel in my life if not the best. The rooms are cozy, very clean and from the windows you can see the beautiful mountains and villages around. The breakfast is made by the owners of the hotel and it contains local and fresh ingredients which makes the dishes so delicious! The owners are probably among the kindest people in Greece. And they are happy to serve you in any way!Me and my family had a great experience here, thank you!
A wonderful small hotel at the edge of Papigo with amazing views. George was very helpful with everything we needed before and during our stay. Breakfast was also really good.
A complete pleasant experience! Thank you for making our stay exceptional. The view from our room was breathtaking. The host was very polite and helpful and the breakfast delicious with traditional products. Highly recommended, would rate with 6 stars if I could. Visited mid July but we would surely go back on winter time also.
Perfect Idyll at Hotel Papaevangelou! We had the fortune of staying at Hotel Papaevangelou on the 20th of May, 2023, for two days, and what an experience it was! From the very first moment, we were warmly welcomed, instantly making us feel at home. Our room was a dream - beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. However, the absolute highlight was the breathtaking view that greeted us each morning. The breakfast was not just delicious but prepared with so much love and care. An added bonus is the hotel's prime location, which provided us with the perfect starting point for a hike into the gorge. We can't wait to return. Definitely a place not to be missed!
Perfect stay at Giorgos’ place! We were 2 families - 4 adults, 4 kids - and stayed 3 nights in 2 double rooms and a studio apartment.Everything was absolutely perfect.Breakfast is by far the best one can find in the entire country. The views and atmosphere were heavenly. And above all — the host is the kindest, nicest person we could ask for.We will definitely come back!
This is an excellent and quaint hotel with stunning views and exceptionally clean comfortable and cozy rooms. The breakfast is wonderful, fresh, and tasty. It is impossible to describe our excellent experience there without highlighting the amazing hospitality of Giorgos, the owner. We travel a lot and have never encountered such a warm, hospitable and kind host, who is always happy to help, assist, and go the extra mile for his guests. This made our visit to beautiful Papingo all the more memorable!
We travel alot, we have been many times to Greece. This hotel and the owner are a GEM. My wards will fail to describe the hospitality, views, atmosphere and joy of staying here. I cannot wait to come back
This is a truly wonderful establishment of high quality. One can expect service and facilities of the highest standard, with beautiful, traditional architecture and well-presented, spacious rooms, all expected amenities provided. The surroundings are breathtaking and this warm, sweet hotel serves as an excellent base for enjoying the serene romance of the mountain village, or exploring the nature and activities on offer all around. At any time of year it is a great joy to spend time in such a highly commendable place. What is most special is the truly magnificent kindness, sincerity and intelligence of the hoteliers, which cannot be overstated and will not be forgotten.
We loved our two nights here - there was something cosy about the accommodation and the welcoming owners that made this feel so home-like… I can’t quite describe it but it was fantastic - as was the breakfast and the view! Stop scrolling reviews and book this place!
A wonderful and peaceful location to visit and relax for a few days. Beautiful scenery from almost everywhere you look, more than complete facilities. Definitely a value for money experience.Mr. Giorgos is a great person, very polite and friendly, he gave us a very warm welcome and a few information about the nearby sightseeing areas.
