Dar Marsa Cubes, where traditional architecture meets modern comfort, steps away from the seafront.

Dar Marsa Cubes’ experience starts with a studded yellow door that opens to a stunning interior of marbled floors, intricate zellige mosaics, and arched doorways. You will indubitably cherish the multiple lounge areas, from the cozy seating alcoves with hand-carved wood furniture to the Tunisian salon with the colorful ceramics and wooden ceiling. Our preference goes to the white salon filled with natural light pouring from the colorful stained-glass windows.

Sonia, the host, is an ardent traveler; she stayed in guesthouses for this time in South Africa, and the experience convinced her to turn the 19th-century family residence into a boutique lodging.

On sunny days, you will enjoy the spacious garden filled with the sweet scent of jasmine as you linger next to the pool. You may prefer the rooftop terrace, which has a sweeping view to inhale the smell of the sea and listen to the waves whispering. You may catch one of the cultural and social events that Sonia hosts at Dar Marsa Cubes, such as movie projections, yoga seminars, and young artists’ exhibitions, which would be an excellent opportunity to socialize with locals. Tunisians are very friendly and a prime example of Mediterranean hospitality.

Nice place to stay (see below some pics of my room). Close to the beach. The only negative point is the breakfast which is ok but too simple. Autre point negatif : le wifi ne marche presque jamais.

  • Rejuvenate next at the pool while enjoying a fresh home-made lemonade at the terrace
