The Villa Ducale is a beautiful little boutique hotel on the hillside of Taormina, the rooms are beautifully furnished and offer every comfort, the shower in the bathroom was also incredibly good as it had a built-in waterfall. The view from the balcony was magnificent; in the morning you could enjoy the sunrise in peace. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, the lady at reception even spoke perfect German which was a pleasant surprise. The view from the in-house restaurant is stunning both at breakfast and dinner.

This was our second stay at Villa Ducale (May 2023 and September 2024). The hotel was recommended from friends that have stayed there in the past. Both stays left us with a desire to return. The accommodations were impeccable; the staff and cuisine were exceptional; and the views are breathtaking!Truly a "la dolce vita" experience that I recommend!Enza

I was at Villa Ducale for a dinner with friends, which turned out to be an extraordinary experience. Everything was perfect and contributed to making us have a wonderful evening: the location, overlooking the beautiful Taormina coast; the furnishings are tastefully taken care of down to the smallest details; the service was fast and impeccable. The dishes were presented very well, with creativity and attention from the chef that immediately stood out, and they were also delicious, especially the appetizer of raw seafood and the seared tuna with caramelized Tropea onions, just to name a few. Thanks to the place and the atmosphere, as well as the excellent company of friends, the evening was unforgettable.

We are sitting in bed on our last night at Hotel Villa Ducale just reflecting on how amazing this experience has been. We came for our ten year wedding anniversary and have been at Hotel Villa Ducale for the last week enjoying ourselves to the fullest! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendliest staff who offered us beverages at their gorgeous restaurant overlooking Taormina. Daniel walked us through everything from the hotel’s service offerings, how their free hourly shuttle to/from Taormina’s center worked, how to reach them for any and every need we had, as well as recommendations for things to do around town, excursions and additional dining recommendations. He was truly so helpful, so kind and such a fun personality! Daniel, Santina and Giuliana were the staff we happened to interact with most and they were all so attentive, personable and hospitable. We really are going to miss them too as we always looked forward to seeing them in the mornings or at night when we’d return. The walk down to Taormina’s center for shopping, the Greek theatre and the gardens is beautiful and was very doable for us. Their shuttle also ran every hour and we could easily sign up for that by telling them in person or via WhatsApp (which was super helpful for when plans changed). They were very quick to respond and add us to shuttle lists or make dinner reservations on our behalf wherever we requested.Speaking of dinner, the on-site restaurant is SO GOOD and the views are unmatched, in my opinion. The restaurant staff were the kindest, as well. We saw them for breakfast (a beautiful spread with lots of options) and for the 3 or 4 times we dined there for dinner. Everything we had was delicious. I highly recommend the beef filet, the swordfish, sea bass, tuna tartar and the tiramisu! Our room was a corner room with a gorgeous king-sized bed, a side patio with lounger style chairs and another sitting patio facing the front of the hotel down to Taormina. Beautiful views everywhere. The housekeeping staff were also amazing. They always smiled and left a treat on our bed, restocked our towels, tidied and restocked supplies daily. Their shampoo/conditioner and body wash smell divine!I seriously could go on and on about how heavenly our experience has been. It was picturesque in all the best ways, and the staff were such a highlight of our trip. You have GOT to book your stay here.

The most sensational views! Just imagine watching the sunset over Etna with a drink in hand whilst you tower over Taormina. We had a beautiful time at Villa Ducale, the food was amazing, the team made you feel completely at ease and the trip was unforgettable. Can't wait to return!

We only ate at the restaurant here but had a lovely experience. Location is brilliant. Staff were attentive. The sicilian zibbibo wine was lovely and the food was amazing. They split the plates for us as we were sharing too. Thanks

Amazing views, very nicely designed hotel and wonderful staff. The layout was planned so that all of the rooms have a sea (and mount etna) view, which is a rarity in Taormina. I want to thank Daniel in particular for making our stay an absolute pleasure.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Ducale. The hotel has an envious position, high above the hill with views of Mount Etna and the bay. Staff in particular are welcoming and helpful. Food is good and we found having a complintary shuttle to and from Taormina most helpful! Thanks again to the staff including Max, who made our stay so relaxing !

5 stars is not enough to sing the praises of the Villa Ducale! This stylish and magical hotel was the 1st stop on our honeymoon. My husband and I arrived cranky after the airline lost our luggage. But any upset we felt was immediately forgotten the second we stepped foot on this beautiful property where we were met by the kindest staff who greeted us with a glass of Prosecco and a snack, and showed us to THE most stunning hotel room with a private terrace overlooking all of Taormina, the sea, and Mt. Etna. The views, comfort, cleanliness, and gracious staff are enough to make this a 5-start experience, but the food takes it over the top. With a wide-selection breakfast buffet and exceptional dinner, these were some of the best meals we had on our 12 day vacation eating our way across several cities. The Ducale is truly a dream, don't hesitate, book it!

We were really excited to stay here, but it fell short of expectation. This is an expensive, boutique hotel - so naturally you expect the best. The pro's: 1. The breakfast was great. 2. The views. The con's: Our room - albeit one of the cheaper one's - wasn't great. For 300 euros, we had a tiny room (could barely walk around the bed). What's more - we had ants all over our bed. When I informed reception - I was told "we're in a remote location, it happens". I have stayed in lots of remote locations and never had ants in my bed!! They tried to get rid of them but we had ants crawling around during the night and the next morning. There was no apology or compensation which I was surprised by.For the price, it was a disappointing stay and a disappointing response from the team.

Our hotel experience was amazing. The hotel and the view are perfect but the staff is really what makes this place shine. They are so welcoming and helpful and truly made our stay. My sister and I want to go back just to see them again! We also met the owner and he was the sweetest. You can tell he really cares about his hotels and guests. Breakfast is delicious and dinner is superb. I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

We loved staying at the Villa Ducale. The staff were very attentive and any issue we had was solved promptly. (air con not working)The food was lovely and great to have a shuffle to take you to town.I think if this is the first time in Taormina I would recommend something closer, perhaps their sister hotel. This was a bit too far away.

I think this is one of the best hotels that I’ve ever visited! It’s perched high up so the views are amazing, and there are stairs that lead you down to the city center (we loved getting the exercise going in and out of city center). When we arrived we were greeted by Santina, who was very sweet and helpful. She took the time to give us an overview of the hotel and of Taormina, which made it much easier for us to plan our day to day activities. I’ve never had a hotel in Italy do that, and it really made our vacation much better! I will recommend Villa Ducale to all my friends and family that are visiting Taormina, including my Italian friends (that live in Italy). It’s a really special place and we hope to return in the future!

An incredible experience in Taormina. We visited on our honeymoon and the design suite was great with amazing views. The front office helped book a tour of Mount Etna, transfer from the airport, and transfer to the beach club. The breakfast was a treat every morning as well.

Loved our stay here. So accommodating and friendly. The check-in experience was the best of our trip. The views are amazing and the proximity to walking paths into the town are easily accessible. Also the walk to the small village of Castlemola is a great workout in the morning and so worth it to grab a granita and Brioche

Picture-perfect views and friendly staff.. Other than the difficulty in parking, everything is great. We stayed at this hotel for three days. The restaurant view is so beautiful that both the restaurant and the hotel are well worth a visit for Taormina tourists. The reception staff are also very friendly and pleasant. The room condition was also clean and very good. If we visit Taormina again, we will definitely come back to this hotel.
