Experience 19th-century France interwoven with modernity in the Carcassonne Townhouse

Nestled right in the middle of the old and new town of Bastide Saint Louis, the Carcassonne Townhouse interlaces luxury with heritage and comfort. The owners, Rachel and Mark, found this beautiful townhouse and transformed it into an unforgettable B&B experience.

Every hotel part exudes a 19th-century vibe, evident across the antique beds and original wall patterns. The cosy aura surrounding the boutique B&B is perfectly complemented by the warmth of the hotel staff and their ever-willingness to lend a helping hand.

As you walk into your room, you are thrust into a century-old experience yet immersed in contemporary comfort. The powerful fans push cool air across your skin, and the windows draw you in for a mesmerising view of the medieval city.

Wake up to the smell of freshly baked pastries and enter the Carcassonne Townhouse’s breakfast room for a well-deserved buffet. Tingle your tastebuds with some classic french cheese and savour the luscious yoghurt just before you start your Carcassonne exploration.

Take some time to digest the beauty of medieval times right before you and, perhaps, take a photo or two for the road. Then enter Bastide Saint Louis, where an array of adventures like sipping coffee with locals at Cafe Felix on the square await you.

Whatever you choose to do and however long you decide to stay, Carcassonne Townhouse has a charming way of pulling you back.

Lovely stay at the house of a lovely host! The location is fantastic, I walked from the railway station (traveling by train). Just walk across the bridge and you're in the historic citadel.Plenty of restaurants to choose from within a 5-10-minute walk.Beautiful townhouse. It has a lot of steep stairs so if you have a problem with that you should ask for the ground floor room. The breakfast is wonderful! If I ever come back to Carcassonne, which I hope, I will definitely book here again.

Just the perfect location, room and hosts, 100% recommended. From our bedroom (room 5, 2nd floor) we had a view across the river to the old city, beautiful.Directions were good and self check-in was simple. The welcome next (and every) morning was warm and the breakfast each day was delicious and slightly varied.Breads, fruits, pastries, cheese meat / salmon, plus juice, tea & coffee, eggs and cereal if wished. It was nice to have chilled water in the fridge and tea available during the day, as well as the coffee maker in the room's own lounge. The old city was only a short walk away across the bridge - we visited every day for dinner or sightseeing. And the modern town is lovely too - a stroll to the station and canal for a canal boat ride, or wander around town, the museum and shops.A lovely stay - 2 things to note: the breeze in September was chilly, so bring a wrap or jacket for evenings. And if there's a restaurant you want to eat at, book ahead!
This little hotel is fantastic. Great breakfast, very careful decoration and great service. The location, close to the two city centers.

Beautiful restored French house in an ideal location to explore the old town and medieval city, run by warm a friendly couple. Excellent breakfast, taken either indoors or in the garden terrace. Spotless clean rooms with large bathrooms, coffee machines, comfortable beds with endless charm and character. All these factors contributed to an unforgetable stay in a beautiful city. Thank you Mark and Rachael

Our stay in Carcassonne Townhouse has been lovely. Everything was perfect: the room (there wasn’t anything missing), breakfast (very complete and delicious), and the service (Rachael is a fantastic hostess; she’s so friendly and caring). The place is perfect for a romantic stay, since the location is very quiet and relaxing: next to the house there’s a whole riverside and it is very peaceful. Moreover, the house is just in the middle between the medieval city and the Bastide, which is the city centre of Carcassonne. You can go walking to any important spot in the city. Also, the parking is easy and free.Highly recommended, thank you Racheal for everything.

Excellent accommodation for a short break. Lovely big authentic room with big modern bathroom. Great breakfast and very friendly helpful staff. Not a criticism but some of the tiles on the bedroom floor were cracked and loose but it's all part of the character. No lift but would definitely recommend.

This place was wonderful for my solo trip, generous size room and bath and the concierge took great care of, providing wonderful gf items for breakfast as I had let her know ahead that I was gluten intolerant. Plenty of yoga space!

We had a lovely stay at the Carcassonne Townhouse! The hosts are warm and welcoming, and you are sure to appreciate the delightful breakfast provided before a full day of exploring the city. The location is superb - just hop over the bridge into old town or explore the newer parts of Carcassonne. We stayed in the Cite View Suite, which was very comfortable and spacious. We loved having a view of the fortress from our window! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
