You can taste local Berber cuisine in the atmospheric restaurant or outside on the tiled terrace overlooking Tamezret village. The rooms are traditional spacious, rustic, atmospheric with exposed stone walls, comfortable sofas draped with Berber woven textiles, and plump cushions. Note that WIFI is available only in the common areas.

Tucked away in southeast Tunisia, Dar Ayed Tamezret is within a few minutes’ walk of the Berber Museum and within a short walk of the pretty village of Tamezret. Labyrinth alleyways are ripe for exploration, adorned with ceramic pots blooming with colourful geraniums and walls draped in pink bougainvillaea. The old watchtower offers incredible views and it’s possible to sample fine. Outside the village, explore the unique troglodyte architecture and Star Wars filming locations of Matmata 11 kilometres away and hike the lunar landscapes to gain outstanding photo opportunities.
