Enter into the luxurious Villa La Massa, where modern comfort meets Renaissance charm

Located on the banks of the Arno River, Villa La Massa exudes Italian history with utter charm. The boutique hotel was built in the 13th century for an aristocratic Florentine family and has a Renaissance twist with a touch of modernity.

As you enter the Chianti wine region, you are thrown in awe at the sight of green hills going on for miles. The tranquillity of the hotel’s surroundings comforts you as you lie just a 15-minute drive away from Florence’s city center.

Slide into your selected building and admire the historic-inspired interior décor throughout the boutique hotel. Settle into your canopy bed lined with elegant fabrics, then take a step into the refined marble bathrooms for a proper unwind.

As the day breaks, step into Il Verrocchio for a delectable treat on the terrace overlooking the gorgeous Arno River. Or, at Easter, take a trip to L’Oliveto for a memorable taste of Tuscan dishes and Italian cuisine on the scent-filled terrace overlooking the pool with views of lemon trees and green hills.

From there, you may leap into the heated swimming pool right in the hotel’s garden. Or, if you’re up for a little adventure, hop on one of Villa La Massa’s tours and excursions of Florence and the Chianti region. Then, to cap off your day, indulge in a wine tasting in the cellar below, Il Verrocchio, which stocks 15th-century wines.

This was our favorite place to stay on our recent trip to Italy for our honeymoon. From the time we stepped out of our car to when we sadly had to leave, we had the BEST experience. Check in was easy and the manager Elisa was lovely. The property, pool, rooms, food, cocktails, and people were absolutely the top notch.Of all the times we have traveled in and out of the US we have never been this impressed by a hotel such as this gem. We will highly recommend to our friends visiting the area and we can’t wait for a trip back ourselves to my new favorite spot.

I can’t say enough great things about this charming hotel! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was quiet, romantic and so charming. The views were stunning, the grounds were beautiful, the food was great. We loved every single thing from our adorable room to the kind and helpful staff. It was a convenient shuttle ride to the city, which was so great and we utilized it everyday. Would highly recommend this place!

Very elegant and spacious 5☆ hotel, it has 10 hectares of private land, overlooking the Arno.It has a restaurant, gym (Home Gym size), relaxation area where you can play chess or dedicate yourself to reading, SPA, heated swimming pool, bar to enjoy a good coffee or a refined drink, and many other services to discover. It is 20-30 minutes from the center of Florence. For those who want to go and eat in cheaper trattorias, they can do so easily, as they are scattered around (10 minutes on foot or 3 minutes by car).

Came here as part of an event and I must say that this hotel is stunning. Located just 20 minutes away from Florence, this hotel provides a really nice and romantic atmosphere. Food that was presented was also quite good. The team at the hotel was efficient and very friendly, made us feel very welcome. The gardens, view of the river and decor of the property was really nice.If you're on a tour of Tuscany, this hotel is a must stop. Although it's not at the city centre, they offer a complimentary shuttle service to town, which will give you a chance to visit the city.Really really nice hotel.

Our stay at Villa La Massa was immaculate. From organized transportation to the hotel, to the warm and genuine welcome upon arrival and until our departure. This is an experience that relaxes you with ease and elegance. Hospitality is the staffs forte. Housekeeping is so intentional, and all employees are pleased and ready to help you. Even the chef showed face and care during some meals! A particular, shout out to the front desk workers and Josh they were so respectful and kind to get to know us! A huge thank you to all of you for a weekend of luxurious care. We look forward to coming back!

My experience at Villa la Massa was absolutely magical! Every part of this hotel is five star- the food, the service, the rooms, spa treatments. I’ve never left a vacation feeling completely relaxed. I left this experience after four days feeling total relaxation. I cannot wait to return.

Another exceptional stay at our favourite destination in Tuscany. The staff throughout the hotel always go the extra mile to ensure that your time spent at La Massa is memorable, relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are extremely comfortable with all the extras you need to relax in a warm environment that ensures an excellent nights sleep. The restaurants and bar deliver great service with knowledgeable and friendly staff who treat you as a valued guest. Spent a few nights here. This hotel is gorgeous with great service. Everyone we interacted is attentive. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon. Highly recommend!
I had the pleasure of photographing Albina and Daniel`s wedding at this stunning venue in Italy, where the lovely couple traveled all the way from the United States to tie the knot. It was an absolute dream to capture their special day amidst the beauty of this venue. The variety of locations provided an abundance of beautiful natural light, which truly enhanced every shot. From intimate indoor spaces to breathtaking outdoor settings, each corner offered a unique backdrop for capturing unforgettable moments. The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive, ensuring that everything ran seamlessly. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a spectacular setting for their special day.

Our stay was one of the best we have ever experienced and we still talk about it today! Tamara went above and beyond to make our stay memorable from the very beginning! She even had rose petals on the bed one evening! It was our honeymoon, and Tamara went out of her way to make it all so very special ! We are so very grateful! Olga at reception was also lovely and helpful when I browsed the gift shop and purchased a handbag from the sister hotel Villa D'Este. Everyone at the resort was incredibly helpful, welcoming, accommodating, and each day it was like a dream! The breakfasts were absolutely perfect! Your staff during the breakfast time was just amazing. Such attention to detail! Extraordinary! We appreciate everyone's efforts during our entire stay! Of all the places we stayed during our visit to Italy, Villa La Massa is the only place we want to return to! It is that special...truly, it was magical. Thank you to all of you for making it so very extra special!

Villa la Massa was excellent! If you're looking to stay at a hotel that's very close to Florence city center (about 10 minutes, and the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from that runs frequently), look no further. The rooms are gorgeous, the property meticulously maintained and sprawling, and the service from all staff was awesome! The view of the river from the gorgeous patio and breakfast area is breathtaking. Every minute spent at this hotel was a joy, worth every dime. We will be back for sure.

Every aspect of this hotel is superior and amazing. From the waitstaff to the excellent housekeeping, to the wonderful concierge. The general atmosphere is refined but also warm, embracing and authentic. The pool is incredible, the spa is top notch and I felt so at home, supported and relaxed there. I was here in 2015 and the memory stayed with me like a dream, I wished to return. And when I came back this time, it wildly exceeded what I had been expecting and looking forward to. This is a special place and it's clear the staff are key to creating a setting so pristine, striking such a delicate balance of warm and attentive service that is consistent but without being intrusive. An amazing thing to accomplish! The grounds are stunning and it's a powerful place to deeply relax and restore in body, mind and soul.

My wife and I travelled to Florence to celebrate our babymoon, and we stayed at Villa La Massa for 5 nights. We absolutely loved our experienced, and all of our needs were catered to with the most professional and impeccable service. The estate is gorgeous and the atmosphere relaxing, with plenty of enjoyable amenities and services (including nearby tennis which we loved) as well as easy shuttle service into and out of the city. We would highly recommend anyone to spend their time in Florence at Villa La Massa, you will not regret it!

About 15 minutes from Florence this oasis is set directly on the Arno River with a fine dining restaurant, bistro, a pool, lemon trees, and rooms that make you feel like you are a guest of the Godfather himself! They have a shuttle that runs to Florence all day until 8PM which is a must since the taxi situation is worth a “goog”. Running or walking trails in the garden make this a place for couples or families! The only thing of note was, as many European hotels no movies, some English speaking TV channels.

The Villa was so beautiful that it surpassed any expectations that we had. Service was so wonderful and we felt that every whim was taken care of immediately. The grounds were so well maintained. We loved the flowers....that seemed to be everywhere. Our rooms were perfect and the views beyond made us feel like in a fairy tale. The restaurant was so elegant and the food could not be any better. The shuttle into Florence was the icing on the cake. Drivers knowledgeable and so friendly.

Upon arrival this hotel felt like something out of White Lotus but in reality, there were some issues that should have been resolved, especially given the price. The villa is incredibly old and the rooms have the same traditional atmosphere - whilst large, lacking something. No irons in the rooms (and the hotel ran out), and the room is cleaned several times daily which was ok but unnecessary. Service was generally ok, but the drink service was really poor and took far too long. The pool looked nice and was not heated, freezing cold and therefore largely unusable. Breakfast was poor for a hotel of this quality and a small point but the room key is huge, so you have to keep leaving it at the reception. The grounds are beautiful which is the one big redeeming feature for this hotel.

We returned after a magical stay last year and this year was even better. We couldn't believe it. Stefano, the head chef was so amazing. He specially prepared two dinners for us as we stayed a week and really tailored the menu for our children as well. The rooms were beautifully cleaned and everything was replenished generously. Every single one of the staff was well-trained, knowledgeable, and immaculate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will surely be back!
